The Prince tennis racquet can be identified by its signature “P” logo that can be seen on the frame, string, and bottom of the racquet. Who is Behind Prince?
Similar to other tennis companies, Prince got it start not by making tennis racquets, but by making a different tennis product, a tennis ball machine. Founded by Roburt McClure in 1970, Robert grew up in Princeton, New Jersey which is where the name Prince naturally came from. The Prince tennis ball machine was a great way for players to practice when no other players were around. In the 1970’s a man by the name of Howard Head joined Prince after using the tennis ball machine. He ended up developing the signature oversized tennis racquet.
The future of Prince tennis racquets
The future of Prince is on the move, literally. Prince relocated their headquarters from New Jersey to Atlanta, Georgia as Atlanta is one of the top tennis playing cities in the United States. They also have developed a new Textreme technology for their racquets. Textreme enhances the stiffness of racquets while also reducing the vibrations that travel through the racquet.
