Eugenie Bouchard was born February 25th, 1994 in Montreal, Canada to a Michael Bouchard and Julie Leclair. She is a fraternal twin sister, Beatrice, who is six minutes older as well as two younger siblings, another sister named Charlotte and a brother named William. Her parents have a fascination with the British Royal Family as all four children were named after members of the Royal Family. Eugenie was named after Princess Eugenie of York. Her looks have helped her off the court as well, as she’s been branded the world’s most marketable athlete.
Eugenie Bouchard’s Tennis Career
Eugenie Bouchard started playing tennis at the age of five and has consistently risen the ranks throughout her career. She turned pro in 2009 at the young age of 15 years old. Three years later, at the age of 18, she took home the Junior Wimbledon grand slam title, becoming the first Canadian, junior or pro, to take home a grand slam title. In 2014, Bouchard exploded onto the tennis scene. She made it to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, the semi-finals of the French Open, and the finals of Wimbledon earning her the title of the WTA’s Most Improved Player. This earned her a career high ranking of number 5 in the world. Since then, her career has seen a roller coaster of highs and lows as she struggles to find her form. The talent is obviously there and the world anxiously awaits to see what Eugenie does next.
