Djokovic started playing tennis when he was 4. His first coach was Jelena Gencic, who worked with him for 6 years. At the age of 14, he began his international career in singles and doubles, winning some local championships in Europe. Novak Djokovic turned professional in 2003 and won his first ATP title in 2006. He reached top 10 in the world rankings in 2007, won his first Grand Slam in 2008, and finally reached number 1 in the world in November 2009. Along the way and since then, Djokovic has won numerous Masters and Grand Slam Titles. In 2016, upon winning the French Open, he became the eighth tennis player in history to achieve the Career Grand Slam. Besides winning numerous titles, he is a part of Serbian National Team, and helped them win the Davis Cup in 2010.
